I'll have a word with him.

Yes, I think you should.
He's obviously got the mower cut height way out of adjustment.
Now THAT'S a thermal.

As I say, if you are interested in joining the club, then at the moment we are giving a 50% discount to anyone with a scythe in their flight kit.

Yes, I guess it’s one of the club’s less than mega-bright ideas.
I must say, though – it did sound good at the time
“You’ll never have to buy any model fuel, ever again,” someone said.
But I think most would now agree – using the runway for growing our own bio-fuel – it’s definitely back-fired !!

A couple of years back, if you had to recover your plane from this field – oh, it was way, way worse than this.

How could it possibly be worse than this?

Well, it just so happened that, for a while, the local zoo rented it for what they called ‘temporary numbers over-spill’.
…. and you do tend to think, long, hard and at least twice about the true, minuscule value of your plane -
when the enclosure that it comes down in, contains things that roar !!

Hey, we found it a good hour quicker than the last time.

You’re right. So we did.
I think we’ll put that down to your improving piloting skills.

You really think so?

Well, let’s put it this way: each time now, you are definitely managing to land in more or less the same field.

You know, this brings to mind an ancient Chinese proverb.

And which one is that?

The one saying:
RC pilot who search for plane in jungle, very good optimist.
He also very crap pilot !

Whatever possessed you, to land in the middle of this stuff?

Well, I tend to find the hard, unforgiving nature of the concrete runway, sort of…….

Sort of what?

Well, at times, I find it’s a bit intimidating, really.

I’m starting to think, by the time we find our way out of this stuff, we’ll both probably have sizable beards.

You think, beards - just beards?
No, no.
At our present rate of progress, I think we may well find the whole world has moved into a totally different era.
In fact, I’ve a feeling you could find, that expensive, new, 27 meg gear of yours, has gone and turned itself into something of a technological dinosaur.

I tell you, before this corn was planted, I almost never had my planes go into this field. Now it’s like a magnet.

You know what I think it is? I think this corn must be giving off pheromones and our model planes – they find them irresistible.

Gosh, I’ve been walking about in this corn field so many times, it’s giving me weird dreams.

Last night I dreamt that I had to mow my back lawn. But the problem was, the grass was so high,
even full-size airliners were getting caught in the top of it.

Eventually, someone in our club told me it sounded like it was a scale problem and that he suggested I try 1/5th scale.

He tapped in a few numbers to his calculator and said, try that - that should be a lot better size.

Anyway, when I got home it had worked - the grass was the right height and all the planes were model size
and landed here and there across the lawn.

Only trouble was, all the passengers were now stood around and all way too big for the planes !!

Didn’t stop some of them trying to get inside them, though.

You sure you’ve not been smoking grass, rather than just cutting it.?

Well, we found theirs in just 26 minutes – I reckon we’re definitely in with a chance.
Definitely, mate. We could win !
So, right - here’s the plan:
It’s your go next. So, you nose dive your plane straight down towards the far back of the field and wedge it deep, deep down into the corn.
Team 2 - they‘ll never find that in 26 hours, never mind 26 minutes !!
And no need to look so apprehensive – it’s a doddle.
We’re laughing!
You dive your plane in like I said and we are definitely going to win this Hide and Seek – you just see if we don’t.
Gosh - they’ll be searching for weeks!!
